Heritage Plaza was established to honor classified staff members, including members of the classified management team.
The memorial is located in the brick circular area between Bailey, Garcia and Analy Halls. Bronze plaques mounted to the brick walls highlight the names and years of service of SRJC classified members who have passed away while still employed, and employees who have retired. The names date back to 1994, the date that the Classified Senate was formed. New names are posted annually during Classified Recognition Week.
Since the installation of the plaques the plaza has taken on a new atmosphere. With much hard work by the custodial staff and their supervisor Mr. Gary Bagley, new tables have been installed to create an area for employees alike to enjoy their lunches or for students to study.
